Internal League - 13th November to 14th January

Hi All,

 
The next internal league has now been published. Following positive feedback to the larger divisions and much improved participation, we will stick with this approach.
 
We will also set up WhatsApp groups for each division, obviously for those who use WhatsApp AND have logged their mobile number to the contact page on the website. If you wish to be included in the WhatsApp group, please reply to this email and we can arrange to add you in.
 
There are some players who have not yet managed to renew their subs, meaning they are blocked from participating, and wish to join, please again let us know and we can add you to the relevant division as soon as your subs are paid.
 
Any issues, please reply, and in the meantime, enjoy playing!!

Internal League - 25th Sept to 12th November

Dear Players, 

 
The new internal league is now published (see 'Leagues' tab). If anyone wants to be added to the league, please just reach out by replying to this email.
 
Following recent feedback, the leagues have been modified as follows:
  • Larger number of players in each division - 8/9 players
  • Longer time to complete matches - 7 weeks
Additionally, there was a suggestion to set up a WhatsApp group for each division to encourage and enable communication for the purpose of arranging games. As we do not have everyone's phone number and of course it may be that some people don't use WhatsApp, for now an email group will be set up and circulated for each division.
 
Further feedback and suggestions are very welcome as we aim to improve engagement with the internal league.

New Internal League - 24th October to 4th December

Please now see that the new league tables are published.
 
It was noticeable that there has been really great engagement in Div 1-3 over the past few weeks, with most players playing most of their matches. The extra few weeks seemed to make a difference also. Therefore, we have extended the time by one week this time.
 
We've had some good feedback also with regard to improving engagement in Div 4-6 and will reach out to discuss further.

Internal League end date pushed out to 31st July

In the context of the hot weather and club closure until Wednesday, we have decided to extend the league period by a week. Therefore, the end of this league will be postponed from 24th July to 31st July.

Thanks also for the ongoing feedback, which we consider as we progress the internal league. On this occasion we follow the request to keep the promotion/relegation simple as per the recent leagues with 2 promoted/relegated to/from each adjacent division.

New Internal Leagues - 22nd November to 26th December

Hello Everyone,

 
The new leagues are now published.
 
As we are now back close to the pre-Covid numbers in the leagues, we want to revert to typical league format with promotion/relegation as follows:
 
1st place - up 2 divisions
2nd place - up 1 division
3rd place - remain unchanged
4th place - down 1 division
5th place - down 2 divisions
 
Therefore we have now amended the leagues to default to 5 players per league and for the next leagues (27th December), we propose to follow the above promotion/relegation system.
 
Please feel free to give feedback on this plan and any other topic related to the internal leagues. For example, one topic is that for some divisions sometimes, not many games are being played, and we will reach out to try to understand if there are ways to support more activity.

As we prepare for the next internal leagues, starting 9th August, a reminder to update your 'internal leagues status' if you want to opt in or out; no update means we assume no change in status so no need to worry!
 
The new leagues (tables and players) will be uploaded early on 9th.

Please see uploaded leagues starting today 5th July. We are still a little bit in the transition phase of getting back to full participation and so some jigging of the players and numbers per league is still required, hopefully this is ok for you.

Preparing for New Leagues - starting 5th July

As we come to the end of the current leagues, it's time to think about the next ones, starting 5th July.
 
For guidance, please note:
 
  • The current leagues will end at midnight 4th July. The next leagues will be updated online on the morning of 5th July and will run to 8th August.
  • Except where someone has advised otherwise, it is assumed participants will remain for the next leagues.
  • There is function on the website where players can set their status with regard to being included in the leagues or not. Go to 'current league' and click the green 'Review League Status'.
  • To update scores on the website, again go to 'current league' and click directly on the league table to input the score, also following the guidance on scoring at the top of the page.
For anyone who wants to join the next leagues, please reach out by responding to this email, or update your 'status' as noted above.

Internal Leagues to re-start 31st May

It's now planned to restart the internal leagues on 31st May. We have had a good response so far with many players very keen to get back playing.

  • During the next week (of 17th May) we will be in touch with those players who confirmed an interest in taking part.
  • For anyone else who wishes to take part, please get in contact as soon as possible.
  • As there will not be a Herts Summer League, the internal leagues provide an opportunity for players to get some game-time before the Cambs Winter League starts!
